Using a fiber-optic endoscope, the doctor can view your esophagus, stomach, and part of your duodenum.
Images are transmitted up the scope to the computer which then displays the image on a large video screen. Allows detection of inflamed tissue, ulcers, and abnormal growths.
Used to look for early signs of cancer and can help doctors diagnose unexplained digestive disorders, abdominal pain, internal bleeding, and weight loss.
The total cost includes the procedure cost and any required lab tests, physician consultation for the review of procedure findings.
Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists, and cost of complication management; travel, food, and lodging.
