Ventriculography is radiography of a ventricle of the heart after injection of a contrast medium.
Nuclear ventriculography is a test that uses radioactive materials called tracers to show the heart chambers.
The procedure is noninvasive, the instruments do not directly touch the heart. Special cameras or scanners trace the substance that attaches to the red blood cells in the blood as it moves through the heart area.
The total cost of a ventriculography cardiologist exam includes the procedure cost and any required lab tests, physician consultation for the review of procedure findings.
Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists, and cost of complication management; travel, food, and lodging.
