An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that records the electrical activity of the heart which immediately precedes the contractions of the heart muscle.
It is used for diagnosing heart disorders such as coronary heart disease, pericarditis or inflammation of the membrane around the heart, cardiomyopathy or heart muscle disease, arrhythmia, and coronary thrombosis. The heart rhythm is recorded on paper.
The total cost includes the procedure cost and any required lab tests, physician consultation for the review of procedure findings.
Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists, and cost of complication management; travel, food, and lodging.
