A diagnostic test is a procedure performed to confirm or determine the presence of disease in an individual suspected of having the disease. Diagnostic tests include: nuclear medicine techniques, blood sugar to confirm diabetes mellitus, complete blood count to confirm a bacterial infection, electrocardiogram readings determine heart irregularities. A screening is a medical test or series used to detect or predict the presence of disease in individuals at risk for disease. Pap smear is a screening test for prevention or early detection of cervical cancer. Diagnostic and/or screening exams are individualized based on examination and assessment of the individual. Procedures not included in the total price. The total cost includes a one hour consultation with a specialist. Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists and cost of complication management; travel, food and lodging.
