A meniscal tear is a rupturing of one or more of the fibrocartilage strips in the knee called menisci. It is commonly called ‘torn cartilage’ in the knee. These are among the most common knee injuries.
The total cost of the meniscal tear consultation includes a one-hour consultation with a specialist. Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists, and cost of complication management; travel, food, and lodging.
