Knee Replacement Treatment
Specialty Surgeon Complete Packaged Procedure.
Knee Replacement and knee cartilage replacement are commonly referred to as the same procedure. The knee itself is not replaced, only the damaged cartilage and bone ends. Knee replacement treatment implants include a metal alloy on the end of the thighbone and polyethylene (plastic) on the top of the tibia and underneath the kneecap.
The implant is designed to create a new, smoothly functioning joint that can prevent painful bone-on-bone contact. Surgery is indicated for arthritis damage to the joint.
In total knee replacement damaged cartilage and bone from the surface of your knee joint is replaced with a man-made surface of metal and plastic. In a partial knee replacement, one part of your knee joint is replaced.
Knee replacement treatment cost includes the facility fee, physician’s fee, cost of drugs, and any related medical procedures required to administer the plan of care. Not included are diagnostic studies, consultations with additional specialists, and cost of complication management; travel, food, and lodging.
