The 5 factor diet works on the rule of 5:  five weeks, five meals a day (2 of which are snacks) and 5 key ingredients. These include protein like lean meats (chicken, fish and low fat dairy), complex carbohydrates (fruits and vegetables), fiber from whole grains, heart healthy fat (avocado and olive oil) and fluids such as water.

In addition, the 5 factor diet calls for 25-minute workouts 5 days a week. Followers should see results in, you guessed it, 5 weeks!

The 5 factor diet is for those like Lady Gaga who want to consume fewer calories, control blood sugar, maximize metabolism, reduce overeating and master smaller portions.

Although it is a 5 week diet, it is suggested that this diet can be used for a lifetime of well-balanced eating.
