Plastic surgery has become increasingly popular in Asia

According to KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Dr. Kim Byung Gun from BK Dongyang said, “The Chinese and Korean patients tell me that they want to have faces like Americans.”Some of the patients undergoing the procedures are kids. A 12-year-old girl recently underwent plastic surgery to get more westernized eyes. According to KABC-TV, the little girl says she’s happy with the results.

Meanwhile, teens in the U.S. are getting plastic surgery as graduation gifts, WRBL, CBS affiliate in Columbus, Ga. reports. Dr. Vincent Naman, who’s been practicing for 16 years, told WRBL that he was surprised to hear about parents giving plastic surgery procedures as graduation gifts. “It really just seemed shocking. You’ve got parents you know advocating plastic surgery for their child, but I understand I spent a lot of time understanding the motivations,” Naman told WRBL.

Naman also said that a lot of it has to do with teens feeling unhappy or self-conscious about their bodies. One teen even admitted that she was in a lot of pain from the surgery but felt like it was all worth it, Naman added.
According to Naman, the most popular procedures for teens are rhinoplasty and breast augmentation surgery.
